0n humanly rational choice (Newcomb's Problem)

Robert Nozick’s seminal 1969 essay (“Newcomb’s Problem and Two Principles of Choice”) introduced to philosophers the puzzle known as Newcomb’s problem. Nozick returned to the problem in his 1974 essay “Reflections on Newcomb’s Problem” and then again in The Nature of Rationality (1993). We describe the problem, then explain what it tells us about the nature and limits of decision theory.
